COVID-19 Update (April 14, 2020)
April 14, 2020
We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the lives that have been lost due to COVID-19 and express our deepest sympathies to those who have been affected.
In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, Olympus has set up a global task force to ensure business continuity and enacted measures to maintain stable supply of our products and services to our customers, while maintaining the top priority of protecting the health and safety of our employees, healthcare professionals, patients, and communities.
Olympus Corporation and Olympus group companies in Japan have advised employees to work from home until Friday, May 1 in the seven prefectures where a state of emergency has been declared, as well as in areas where reported infections have significantly spread, including Hokkaido, the Tokyo metropolitan area, Tokai/Kinki area and Fukuoka. From today, all employees in Ishikawa—where there has been a rapid increase in infections—are also advised to work from home. Olympus will continue to evaluate the situation and respond accordingly.
Olympus remains committed to ensuring stable supply of services and products to our customers without interruption during this time. We have established comprehensive and coordinated plans across our global footprint to navigate these situations, both with a focus on employee health and safety and operational resilience. We will continue to take the utmost care and closely monitor this fluid situation.
