Update about cybersecurity incident in the U.S. – systems restored

We can confirm that, following a cybersecurity incident confirmed on October 10, 2021, affecting our business operations in the Americas (U.S., Canada and Latin America), our systems have been restored, and we continue to make progress towards ensuring an uninterrupted supply of our products and services for our customers and their patients. There has been no impact to our operations in other regions.
Immediately upon learning of this incident, we launched an investigation and recovery effort with the assistance of cybersecurity experts and notified law enforcement authorities. Determining whether any information was compromised has been one of the top priorities of this effort.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are notifying current and former employees in the Americas whose data may have been affected. We are supporting any potentially affected employees with resources to help safeguard their personal information.
Olympus has also focused on increased efforts to improve our information security to prevent incidents like this from occurring in the future.
